Dorsis Interior Door Limited Warranty

The door is manufactured by Dorsis, s.r.o. (“Manufacturer”). A Dorsis interior door including any components (“Product”) is designed and manufactured for interior application only. The interior application is defined as having controlled interior climatic conditions on both sides of the door.

Technical description

The door leaf (slab) is a door with flush or glass panel, swing or pocket, with rabbet or square edge. The door leaf is made of wood frame around the perimeter, cross rails, door leaf core material (honeycomb, Kronlight fiberboard, lightweight chipboard, glass, etc.) and door face (MDF board).

Warranty period

Dorsis warrants its doors (finished or unfinished) sold under this warranty to be free of defects in material or workmanship as set forth below, for a period of two (2) years from the date of shipment from the Dorsis manufacturing location. The two year warranty only applies to the original purchaser, and is non-transferable.

Tolerances

Tolerances are based on the requirements set forth in the technical standard ČSN 746401 for wooden doors, issued by Czech Standardization Agency. Manufacturing tolerances may not exceed the tolerances set forth in ČSN EN 1529 for height, width, door thickness and perpendicularity. Manufacturing tolerances for warp may not exceed tolerances set forth in ČSN 1530.

Finishes

To determine if any finish blemishes are visible, a finish surface will be observed under regular lightning conditions without any optical tools at a perpendicular distance of 160 cm (63”).

Warranty limitations and exclusions

The following are not considered defects in materials and workmanship to the Product and are not covered by this warranty:

  1. Natural variations in veneer color, texture, or grain.
  2. Appearance of a door after field finishing.
  3. Any damage to Product due to misuse, accident, mishandling, poor finishing or machining by others, which includes scratches, abrasions or other damage caused by improper handling or cleaning.
  4. Any damage caused by acts of God, fire, flood, earthquake, or other storms.
  5. Product failure due to improper or incorrect installation.
  6. Modification, alterations (including trimming and cutting down door), repair or service of this Product by anyone other than Manufacturer.
  7. Any use of the Product other than for which it was intended.
  8. Doors installed in or subject to high moisture or high humidity environment, including new homes with uncured plaster, drywall, concrete or ceramic tile.
  9. Doors installed in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight affects the finish and may cause excessive heat differences between the faces, leading to warping.
  10. Doors subjected to unusual stress or strain such as that resulting from the movement of building or building components, or resulting from expansion or contraction of building components.
  11. Slight expansion or contractions due to differing environmental conditions.

Handling & Installation

  1. The buyer must store the door in a dry and well-ventilated area. The door must be covered and the cover must allow for air circulation. The buyer must not store the door in a building or job site where cement or plaster has not dried.
  2. The door slab must be stored laying horizontally on a level surface, the door slab must never be stored leaning against the wall.
  3. The buyer must handle the door with clean hands or gloves, avoiding all dirt and oil. The buyer must not drag any door or other object across the face of another door.
  4. The buyer must not expose the door to excessive moisture (above 55% RH), excessive heat (32 ºC / 90 ºF), and dryness (30% RH). The buyer must not subject doors to abnormal extremes in temperature or humidity, or sudden changes in temperature or humidity, nor extreme variations from face to face.

What the Manufacturer will not do

The Manufacturer or its distributors are not responsible for transportation, shipping, removal, finishing, labor or installation charges or costs incurred in replacing the door or any other costs relating to the replacement of the Product. In addition, Manufacturer shall not be responsible for indirect, consequential or incidental damages.

What the Manufacturer will not do

This warranty sets forth Manufacturer’s maximum liability for the Products. Manufacturer makes no other warranty, expressed or implied with respect to its Product. No distributor, vendor or Dorsis representative has the permission to alter this warranty.

What the Manufacturer will not do

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NEITHER DORSIS S.R.O. NOR ITS DISTRIBUTORS WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE PRODUCTS, EVEN IF SUCH PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. DORSIS’ MAXIMUM LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS THE PURCHASE PRICE DORSIS OR ITS DISTRIBUTOR RECEIVED FOR THE PRODUCT IN QUESTION. THESE LIMITATIONS WILL APPLY NOTWITHSTANDING ANY FAILURE OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY REMEDY SPECIFIED IN THIS AGREEMENT.
