In about 4 weeks, industrial designers, interior designers, architects, and media from around the world will travel to the Salone del Mobile 2025 in Milan, Italy. There's nothing quite like that in the industry. The April event in Milan is the design equivalent of the Paris Fashion Week or - fittingly - Milan Fashion Week.
What will be on display? Well, furniture, for one. But also new engineered wood veneers (looking at you, Alpi) or new door hardware — can't wait to see DND Martinelli, Olivari, or Groël.
Most recently, Alpi showcased a unique art piece: the Ayl cabinet by Alessandro Mendini, veneered in ALPI Pointillisme B/N. The Ayl is one of three Mendini pieces expressing archaic monumentality, produced by ALPI and named Tre Primitivi (2018). Galleria Luisa Delle Piane presented this art piece during the 2025 edition of Nomad Circle, a traveling art fair, held this year in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
On this side of the pond, Alpi participated in a beautiful renovation of Tower 56, a 33-story office skyscraper located on 56th Street just east of Park Avenue in New York. Michigan-based interior designer powerhouse Davis & Davis picked ALPIready Cardinal Striped to create warm wall paneling in the lobby and lounges, making them refined, contemporary, and welcoming.
And last, you may enjoy an outstanding example of furniture built by Muesco and designed by became. The bedroom cabinetry, enamating a Scandinavian-inspired type of pale light, combines ALPI Xilo Ice Frisé (figured grain) and ALPI Xilo Ice Striped (straight grain). These veneers were first curated by Italian designer Piero Lissoni, a creative director of Alpi and also a founder of Lissoni & Partners, an interdisciplinary studio for architecture, interior design, product, and graphic design, with a presence in Milan, Italy, and New York City.
At Angelbau, we love the broad design flexibility of the Alpi collection and especially the consistency of their eco-friendly engineered veneers. This consistency matters, especially when our Fortius concealed doors are incorporated into interior wood wall paneling, where the swing door panel and the surrounding wood wall panels are aligned to form a continuous wall.
So, let's meet at the Salone Del Mobile; the six days in Milan will be packed!
